For most people, neck pain is caused by abnormal sleeping positions, falls, injuries, and poor posture. However, in rare cases, the pain can also be caused by growth abnormalities, tumors, infections, and even cancer.

This is a procedure applied by hands on the neck joints, and it aims to improve mobility in the spine and restore the flexibility of motion. 

In most cases, a chiropractor will combine several treatment options. These include spinal manipulation techniques like instrument-assisted manipulation, flexion-distraction technique, and specific spinal manipulation. 

Other common therapies used are therapeutic massage, trigger point therapy, ultrasound, and interferential electrical stimulation. Before your treatment, the chiropractor will explain what is involved in your treatment option, so you know what is happening. 

How Long Does a Chiropractor Neck Pain Treatment Take?

Your chiropractic treatment period will depend on your condition. If your pain results from a pinched nerve or poor sleeping position, chances are you will only need short-term care. One or two sessions with your chiropractor might be enough.

If your neck pain is caused by more serious issues like sports injuries, car accidents, or arthritis, you will probably need long-term care. Overall, the best way to know your treatment period is to visit your chiropractor for a professional diagnosis.
